Bandits Win Gopher Classic!

The Bandits wrapped up a successful weekend in Minneapolis by capturing the 2006 Gopher Classic Championship. This tournament is the largest legion tournament in the country with a field of 48 teams. The Bandits went 7-1 over the weekend with pool play wins over Bemidji, Edina, and Chaska Minnesota as well as Cranston, Rhode Island.

The Bandits advanced to the final round where they defeated Fargo, North Dakota and Billings, Montana to earn a berth into the Championship game that was held in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, home of the Minnesota Twins.

The final game was played at 9:30 on Tuesday, July 11 where The River Bandits defeated Rapid City, South Dakota 7-5 for their first Gopher Classic Championship!

Congrats to all of our players for their hard work and dedication to the program. A very big THANK YOU goes out to all of our fans and parents who made the trip this year.
